It doesn't look like it's that fine of pitch (if that's what you were
implying). I measured the "ball" on a ballpoint pen and it measured about
0.045" diameter. So, this thing may simply be 1mm pitch.

Our concern is the three power pads on the bottom, specifically for
rework. Our manufacturing people didn't look too enthusiastic when we
showed them this one.


Are you really that hard-pressed for space? At those currents I'd always
prefer external FETs.

The upcoming board is pretty tight, and we need 3 amps or so at +2.5
volts for a bunch of ECL. We also need a heap of +8, +5, -2.5, and -5.
That's a lot of switchers. Prime power is a 12 or maybe 24 volt wart.
Looks like a closed-loop fan control too, to keep the ecl temp sorta
constant and minimize acoustic noise and time delay creep.

Some of the boards we're doing lately are close to half power supply.
