imate jama problem

I had bought imate jama handset 1yr back. before 2 months, it's
charger stopped working, but as it was able to get charged the battery
through usb port i tried it for 2 months. when i was supposed to move
out of station, i kept off the handset and used another handset for 4
days as i was unable to charge imate at the outstation place.
after coming back i tried to put on the handset but no way, it is not
working.
the charger pin shows output voltage in correct manner, but while
putting to charge it is not working.
is any help there to sortout the problem without going to authorised
service centre as the bugger there wants to make the problem more
sticky
