Elderbrat was from an, umm, previous arrangement. She went to a
private school in Cade, Louisiana, but she got in free because she
owned the land it was on. She's a biologist of some kind.

economy/technology/science are doing fine, the schools can't be all
that bad.


Don't be so sure. I get around a bit, lots of companies. From what I
observe in business the main technology pushes come from folks above 40
years old, to a very large extent. Many young grads can't even do a
decent solder job. Us guys have to train them and they have the smarts
alright, but that used to be different. In the 80's they just threw us
into the water and we better swam. When I was hired for my first job
they had a hard schedule when my stuff had to be done. They relied on me
and many other fresh grads to handle all this on our own.

The younger generation is a bunch of stupid, lazy slackers. That has
been known for thousands of years.
