The Mann curve in the Wiki article on "Hockey Stick Controversy" shows

The curve shown in the Wiki article on "Hockey Stick Controversy" is a
northern hemisphere one, showing the northern hemisphere to have warmed
about 1.05 degrees C from the mid/mid-late 1800's to the 1998 spike.

Northern hemisphere HadCRUT-3 has rise of about .95 degree C for that
period. Looks like Mann was only a little off with determining the blade.

Of course, it would be fair to show the world as a whole. HadCRUT-3
has the world warming about .85 degree C over that period.

Now add to that the fact that tree growth adapts to periods of climate change
and hence tree ring data is nearly worthless over the very long term. He was
running round in circles chasing faeries..

Look at Loehle instead.

Loehle excludes a fair amount of the blade.
