Google Groups is a half assed HTML portal into USENET. Earthlink
offers the real thing, for free. It also offers better privacy, because
it doesn't reveal your IP posting host address. It also makes it simple
to filter out most of the garbage. IF you like to crawl through the
sewer to access USENET, it's not our problem.

And heaven forbid someone should simply mention "Uh, did you realize you're
using Google Groups?"

To which I'd have simply replied, "No, I don't know what that is, I'll look
into it", then looked into it, and then requested info as to how to nix the
damn thing. Instead, you chose to launch into an ad hominem attack. I find
it kind of pathetic, but hey, if that's what floats your boat, it's your
life...

It reeks of ignorance and trolling. If that's the face you want to
wear, that's your problem.

If that's how you choose to interpret it, that's your affair.


You've been here less than two months. This newsgroup gets trolled,
spammed, flooded, and attacked on a regular basis. All, by people hiding
their identity. We had a flood of over 50,000 forged posts in a couple
hours last year. It screwed up the group for days, and some people
left for a while, rather than try to mark all of the crap 'As read'.
After a while people who don't go with the general flow are kill flied
or told to get lost.

Think of it as armchair 'snipe hunting'. The regulars on the group
get to know each other, and other than a handful of humorless fools,
they enjoy the jokes.

Well, anyone who does take the time to actually *read* through my posts,
without prejudice, will realize that I'm not merely a "snipe".


Once again, you're new here. I am now 100% disabled, and cant go
hunting. Snipe hunting is a silly joke that is played on people who
have never been hunting, or camping. They are out in the woods for
hours as someone in the group sneaks around making noise, to get you to
tail the elusive, but tasty critter. If they have the chance, they use
a burlap bag with a hole cut in the back to show you that they have
caught one, then 'struggle' to keep it from escaping and attacking their
victim. As far as reading through your posts, some have one or two
lines of new text with no white space to make it easy to find. That is
why you delete whatever isn't needed from older messages, but leave the
context intact.


But, hey, if you *need* to hate me for some non-reason or another, well,
whatever, enjoy yourself <shrug>.


It takes a lot of hard work to make me to hate someone, but a couple
people have achieved that in the last 50+ years. OTOH, I have been in
pain 24/7 for several years. I don't sleep well, and I no longer
tolerate attitude, like I used to.

This newsgroup isn't all smiles and hugs, like some others. That is
why sci.electronics.basics was created, for those with little or no
skills, or no sense of humor. You need a thick skin on this newsgroup,
and if you can't handle it, then use news:sci.electronics.basics where
the general policy is to treat people with kid gloves. You've shown a
lot of attitude, and no skills, so no one takes you seriously. There is
some world class talent on this newsgroup, and they will quickly kill
file people who waste their time.
