I've lived here for 46 years and not seen anything quite like this.
Lightning activity so frequent that thunder was a _constant_ rumble
for more than an hour... sounded like standing next to a diesel
locomotive.

No apparent damage here, but I note that a neighbor across the street
had a tree uprooted.

Yikes!
And i was thinking of moving to AridZona for a climate warmer than
OhRegan and presumedly isolated from HizziCanes, ToraNadoes etc (having
much of SouthAmerica youall as a barrier).

Don't move here! It's hotter than hell and then the wind blows ;-)

When i was in the Army, i was posted in Fort Huachuca for about 6
months (about Jun-Nov).
Took me about one hour to get used to the heat.

I know. I'm just trying to control population growth in AZ ;-)

About 30 years ago I first moved to the Coachella Valley from Memphis.
We would be outside, and everyone around us was dying from the heat
(it was in August...) and my wife and I looked at each other and said,
"Yes, it is warm, isn't it." It was 118F, but felt like about 78 in
Memphis!

Yep, I was back to WV Aug 21-25 for my 50th high school reunion, and
my every-five-year humidity dose to remind me why I live in AZ ;-)

It's what you learn, after you know it all, that counts.
