is solar panel production is doen on a larger
scale, those will become cheaper.
Bwahahahahhaahahaaaaa ! Do you think they only just invented them ? And it IS
done on a large scale !

PV solar is INSANELY expensive by design. Only Nanosolar are claiming to offer
anything better but they won't release data. Smells of something nasty to me.
Nanosolar have just had a $300m injection of capital to boost their
production capacity.
What's that got to do with the price of their panels ?

PV solar currently averages ~ $6 per peak watt. Nanosolar claim they can do it for
$1. Do you think they'll sell it for $1 when they could sell it for say $4 and still
undercut the other manufacturers and sell every sq metre of film they produce ?
Of course not.
But in this case the price is high because demand cannot be met, not
because the tech is inherently expensive.
And ....... ?
It is then a case where large injections of cash into production lines
will have a drastic effect on price, yet still provide an economical return.
A: These things don't happen overnight

B: What happens to all the companies making $6/W cells ? Do they go bust thus >>>>> reducing
the availability of PV solar ?
Maybe they do get wiped out.
I can see it happening which would radically affect the availability of PV solar. 1 step
forward, 2 steps back !
Somehow I don't see the Chinese PV industry being wiped out by someone
elses IP.
China isn't capitalist ?
No, it's a Fascist economy.

That's a new take on it for me.

Authoritarian regime where Capitalism is harnessed to the needs of the state (and the power elite).
