He'll blame me (for protecting my right wing "buddies"); and come up
with another cockamamy story about how he liked my circuit designs
before he decided they were worthless... I doubt that he actually
_ever_ used any of my chips ;-)

I imagine that Jim thinks that he could protect his right-wing
buddies, which would be another one of his ego-boosting delusions.

I don't have a clue about his circuit designs - for all I know the
defects of the MC4024 and the MC4044 which I did use (once) were all
forced on him by the limitations of the Motorola process technolgy of
the time. I've been much happier with more recent Motorola parts,
which does suggest that Jim might have been less competent than his
successors.
