Don,

I've been reading your posts - informative and clear, makes sense. Do you
have more such info on a webiste or otherwise published?

Thanks, but I don't have a website, so no blog. What I post is just based
on my education, experience, and exposure to credible and incredible news.

Last evening on one of the news channels (might have been CNBC) there was an
excellent report which traced the cause of our current problems, through
several President's administrations starting with Carter. It did point to
the general reluctance, in both parties, to take any steps that would slow
the economy.

From the report, it is clear that I have been a little wrong in criticizing
the Bush administration for not controlling the Federal Reserve System,
Fannie Mae, and Freddy Mac. The report more-or-less said that by 2005, a
melt-down of the economy was inevitable.

In 2005 the Republicans initiated a Bill in the House that would have
regained some control of the monetary system. The Republican vote was 100%
in favor and the Democratic vote was 100% against passage, defeating it's
passage to the Senate.

It appears to me that special interests have dulled any good sense in our
elected people.

Beyond that, a President with any courage, intelligence and leadership
ability would have gone to the airways and told us about the impending
problems, asking us to contact our representatives to support the Bill.
Unfortunately, Bush has none of these characteristics.

My unforgettable memory of him is in the film of him visiting with
elementary school children, sitting on a small chair while an agent
whispered in his ear about the terrorist controlled planes on 9/11. He
defined himself right then, as a functional idiot, doing nothing, just
remaining there, dull faced, looking like nothing important was happening.

Bottom line again, is that no one Party is responsible for the mess we're
in. I hope people will look for the best man for President, and not just
vote party lines.
