"Theft" is defined as taking something unlawfully, so by definition
things such as taxes are not theft.

No group of humans in the history of mankind has ever allowed their
fellow man to do whatever they wanted to without some form of required
"tribute." It might be in the form of money (taxes), it might be in
the form of labor (required military service), but if you want to
play, you have to pay. All countries are socialistic -- the big
differences come in regarding how much of a nation's capital is
forcibly taken by the government, and how many people tend to agree
with how the money that's taken is then re-distributed.

Remember "Thou shalt not steal"?

If it were in more men's nature to provide for their fellow man in
need, maybe the government "stealing" (taxing) their populace wouldn't
be necessary. Let us know when you find such a group of people...

government should not be used to force charity.

excessive taxation makes more people dependent and "needy".
there's no country on Earth that has taxed it's way to prosperity.
