Dear Engineers: Some engineers post here about subjects that they know
little about.
A more interesting question is why someone who apparently knows
nothing about electronic design is posting to s.e.d.

for the same reason you'll find creationists talking about science and
biology.
I wouldn't presume to debate a serious scientist - as in physics or
chemistry or mathematics - about their field. But in some areas, like
economics, climate studies, history, social and political "sciences",
there's no evidence that the "experts" are any better than absolute
amateurs or dice tossers when it comes to analysis of the past or
prediction starting today. In such cases, I may as well state an
opinion. Given that I make my way in the world by building and selling
stuff that works, and have a pretty good understanding of causality
and control theory, I may be righter than they are.
