Jim gives a proper engineers response, not a political-religious
response.

Slowman will never understand that. Slowman's behavior is actually
the epitome of political-religious extremism, insisting on everyone's
adherence or suffer the "punishment" ;-)

His view of the AGW "science" is grossly distorted by his overall
gloom and pessimism. He, like so many other leftists, *wants* the
world to go to hell in order to justify their grim outlook.

The proper response to that sort of nonsense is to make things better
and to have fun doing it. Both actions outrage the pessimists.

The "special powers" are hope and humor.

We're helping Pratt&Whitney develop their Geared Turbofan engine,
which is projected to save 15% on airline fuel cost. Our stuff is
being used by GE to develop next-generation jet engines, stationary
gas turbines, and locomotives. And we've sold thousands of end-use
survey meters which utilities use for energy studies. Our stuff is
used to control gas pipeline compressors, develop satellites, do
energy research. These things will save a lot more energy, and CO2
release, than Sloman's tedious blathering.
