Why?

And Hansen is more politician than scientist now.

He's a famous scientist whose press releases get published
in newspapers. That doesn't make him a politician - has he run
for election to any kind of political job?

For a non politician he's very political. For example:

http://www.columbia.edu/~jeh1/mailings/20081229_DearMichelleAndBarack...

That's not how a politician would try to exert influence - that's just
a concerned, particularly well-informed citizen registering his
opinion.

BOLLOCKS.

Page 5 for example:

"If returned to them in equal share on a per capita basis"

Classic commie redistribution of wealth. This is not a concerned
citizen, it's some one with a corrupt political agenda.

It has the benefit of being simple and practicable. Have you a
practical proposal for a system that you would find more equitable?

Since communists re-distributed wealth from the population as a whole
to the members of the communist party, it doesn't look much like a
communist scheme to me, but Americans do have this rather silly habit
of describing any social arrangement they don't like as communist.

If you read much of what Hansen has to say he frequently spouts this
nonsense.

You may think it is nonsense, but you haven't spelled out your
objections in any detail and the single specific objection you've made
doesn't seem all that rational.
