I thought I was the last person on the planet using a CRT.

Gnaw...

I'm too cheap for a new LCD, plus they're all wide format and I don't
want wide format, plus I luuurve my Trinitron.

Nonsense. LCD monitors come in all shapes and sizes. Trinitrons are
OK for cheap home stuff. Most studio monitors I've seen don't have
inline guns.

LCDs are cheap now too. I recently saw the newer version of this 24"
monitor on sale for $250. I was thinking of buying one for work.
Didn't know how the boss would like it though. ;-)

In that picture is some SVGA abomination with an awful fisheyed barrel
shape to the front -- compared to the near flat sharpness of this
monitor that is! :-) Only goes up to 1280x960, too... I feel
claustrophobic using that!

1280x960? That doesn't sound like a standard format. I use 1280x1024
on my 17" CRTs (and 1920x1200 on this 24" LCD).

Here's what I usually use, in place actually... I'm at school
obviously...

1600x1200, and 19" (or is it 21") viewing space. And heavy as a mofo,
but that's how you know it's good... that's why all good tube amps
weigh a ton you know. :-)

You'd save a lot of space with an LCD.
