I thought I was the last person on the planet using a CRT.
Gnaw...
I'm too cheap for a new LCD, plus they're all wide format and I don't
want wide format, plus I luuurve my Trinitron.
Tim
I love Trinitrons too. Have had three. Luckily, by the time #2 (15" Sony) became too dim to put up
with, a friend gave me the 17" IBM that he'd replaced with two wide LCDs. For almost a year I
danced on air because of the additional 2" of bright "desktop". Then it went dark.... for good.
WHen I mentioned this to the guy and grouched that big Trinitons were as scarce as hens' teeth and
that I'd probably have to stoop to using an LCD, he told me I'd better hurry up and buy because 4:3
LCDs (I don't use Windoze; don't want w-i-d-e) were becoming unobtanium. He was *so* right.
Fortunately I found 17" (GREAT! No more 15"!) Hewlett Packards at TigerDirect for pretty cheap.
Bought two. (Nice to have a spare) They're OK but definitely not as easy to stare at as Trinitrons
are.
