DfromBC knows he needs employees who have a demonstrated ability to deal with evidence.

Electronics can involve detective work.
A detective mind + Christianity imo are opposing mind sets.

You've demonstrated that you lack that ability, so he might be right not to hire you.
It's nothing to do with your belief, or at least, doesn't need to be.

I've seen delusional (non-religious) tech folk holding o'scope probes, or operating
a code debugger, saying "this can't be happening", yet still failing to deal with it.

I've also seen religious people who adequately partition their delusions, and
amongst them is one of the brightest tech people I've ever worked with... yet
he lacked the motivation to make the most of his abilities, presumably because
heavenly things matter more to him. I enjoyed working with him, but wouldn't hire
him. I want folk who are motivated.

I've also worked with very religious folk (including non-Xians) who were competent,
effective and a pleasure to work with. It's about what you do, not what you think.

I hope that indicates some of the things that justify caution wrt religious folk
in technical roles. It's not persecution, just pragmatism. Persecution is where
someone burns your house down or spits in your face.

The thing I like about Christians is that they make me laugh.. :)
