If they're too cheap to do that and don't have the vanity issues, I just
set them up on Gmail. They do IMAP too.

Gmail? <gas> I think I am going to get sick ...
"<gas>" ?:-) Is that a polite way of saying "<fart>" ?:-)

No, I meant <gasp> :-/
Lots of them don't want to pay the monthly hosting fee, even if it is
less than $10 a month. So they're stuck - either use gmail or nothing.

For just a tad of searching you can get minimal hosting for $49 a year
and it is often included in most personal ISP accounts.
Yeah - I got the full suite (Web, email, stats, promotion) for three
years for $178.

Hopefully that came with three years of domain name registration.
Otherwise you paid too much.

Yes it did. Even transferred my domain name from GoDaddy too.

Well, hurumph! Mine (1and1.com) just sent me an email that they'll now
jack up the price from $60/year to $84/year. Of course packaged in the
usual soothing sales pitches like that free-of-charge traffic would now
be unlimited, but mine was always miniscule in terms of MB.

The vet office visits almost doubled in price, root canals at our
dentist went from $600 to $800. Where the heck do the "officials" get
our supposedly low inflation rates? From a crystal ball?

Everyone is scrambling to boost their medical prices before Obama's
_partial_ coverage begins. Enjoy ;-)
