Just installed Opera 10 in Linux (there is a windows version too I think).
Must say that this is faster and easier to install then that firefox thing.
At least it works very well so far.
Copied some bookmarks, and closed firefox.
I think Opera is better.

Does Opera have add-on widgets? I love InFormEnter, FireFTP,
FlashBlock in Firefox.

One can turn off javascript, java, and flash globally and then enable
them individually for trusted sites.

If that works well i may change browsers.

It's pretty painless, though I've been using it since back when one
still had to buy it so familiarity helps.

Basically, it's just the Tools | Preferences dialog box, and then the
Advanced tab under Content to uncheck JavaScript, Java, and plug-ins.
That's the global disable. For individual sites, there's a right-click
menu to Edit Site Preferences and turn one or more on for a particular
host.

Sadly, it's still necessary to keep a mainstream browser around. Scoring
100% on the Web Standards Acid3 test (just tested my install of Opera 10
(release version) and it did get 100%) isn't enough. For example, the
%!#!$^* Verizon On Line (ISP's) main web page is just a blank, even with
scripting, java, and plug-ins enabled. WTF?! Hard-wired for MS IE, I
guess.

BTW, here's the gateway to the test. Give it a spin ...
<http://www.webstandards.org/action/acid3> I got a 93% with Firefox
3.5.2, although it was not as smooth (noticeable pause at 68%) as Opera.
And a whopping 20% (twenty, no typo) with IE 8.

Gee, i am getting only 72 with Firefox 3.0.12 in wine, and 3.0.12 in
Suse Linux (native). Nor is it smooth, and the color is getting lost.
