<snip>

Can you produce a version which will deal with a worst case 4.75V from
the "5V" rail?

---
I'm pretty sure I could, but not for the purpose of shutting up some
doddering old fool who'd then scrape the bottom of the barrel just to
keep a pointless argument going,

That's a no. You can't put up. so shut up.

I don't accept challenges from lightweights, and I  _choose_ to do
neither.

If that pushes you toward apoplexy, then so be it.

Thanks so much for providing ample data for a troll-feeder filter.

Don't you delight in seeing the trolls brought to their knees?

I do, and we've seen a lot of them turn tail when dispatched through
sed.

Unusually spoiled brats who've never been disciplined are the bane of
our existence in this world and should be given their comeuppance as
soon as they rear their ugly heads.

It's not always an easy task since some of them are smart, like Sloman,
and his parents were, apparently, unable to deal with him, so it lies on
us to apprise him of his failings and, ergo, to help him become a better
human being and the world a better place.

Personally, I think Slowman is mentally ill.  His life is built around
bickering with people he can suck in here.  If everyone ignored him
he'd probably commit suicide ;-)
