I certainly agree that reposting the spam was a complete waste of bandwidth.Calls for volunteers have gone out. 8-)

I never have understood the top-posting disdain.The disdain comes when folks
don't trim out the bits that don't apply in any way to the response.
This usually goes hand-in-glove with top-posting.
An extreme example is
a 1-word response followed by a 60-line blockquote.
I can understand this if it was meant to beAs the Bard said, "Ah. There's the rub."
a long discussion with many posts,
but for short term, single reply items, I think [top-posting] is better.
Of course, determining in advance what is short term
(or single reply) IS rather difficult!
High marks on your understanding of the ancillary points.
The baffling part is that
your logic doesn't allow you to then loop back to the starting point.
(Again, proper trimming makes the most-accepted technique
less odious.)
