Hi,

I have A6302 Tektronix current probe that shows erratic behaviour.
The overload light is on, and its intensity varies depending on how
open the probe is.
The DC offset is way off, AC output is wild.

It is not an amplifier issue. Other probes work OK.

Can anyone help me find this problem?

There is only the Hall device inside the probe(it's a combo Hall IC and a
AC coil),and it's susceptable to fracturing if dropped.
Whether you can get a new Hall device is unknown.(certainly not from TEK!)

The probe cable (assy)itself could be bad, maybe a broken wire inside. It's
got two shielded coaxes, and several plain wires.

You could test the cable assy by borrowing the Hall device from a second
A6302 probe.

Try Tegam;www.tegam.com

they bought the TM500 line from TEK,so they were the last manufacturer of
those units.

the probe comes apart by pulling (sliding) back the plastic strain relief
off the probe end,and then the slide will come off.
