I'm looking for something that will take a 10V RMS, 400Hz Sine wave
and boost it to 12V RMS (still at 400Hz). Is there a piece of
equipment that I can buy that will do this? I would rather buy
something off the shelf than make one myself. I can actually generate
a signal at any RMS Voltage up to 10V RMS, if this can make things
easier. Any help would be much appreciated.
Any small audio transformer will do. just drive one winding with the signal generator and see what comes out of the other winding. It will either be more or less voltage. If it is equal, then wire it as an autotransformer to make a 2-to-1 step-up.
