phone jacks

There is a little plastic piece on a phone jack that enables it to remain
firmly in the socket and which you have to squeeze to remove the jack from
the socket. This little piece tends to wear out and break very easily, making
it necessary to replace the entire phone cord. Is it possible just to replace
the jack and, if so, how?
