Power supply chip manufactures also provide complete and
working schematics with their data sheets AND in application
notes. Battery recharging is also an IC solution. Power
supply chips are from TI, National, Linear, ON Semi, and so
many others. Maxim/Dallas Semiconductor also sells power
supply and voltage monitoring ICs. Again - all manufacturers
provide schematics in data sheets or application notes.
