I've no information specific to your equipment, but I'd suspect either:
1) Your car charger is drawing more current than you measured under
some conditions or 2) Your BMW's battery is defective. For reference,
one of my LG VS3200 with GPS enabled (but unused) has sat on standby on
the charger in a Ford light truck for 6 weeks plus with no visible
effect on the battery.
