I am an old time repairman - and I did fix it locally.

There you go. When I started out I was amazed by the skill at 'guessing'
the older guys had. Now even I can do it - it just took 40 years.

Still - if anyone can find the OP's scope manual, there might also be an
archive containing the counter manual I'm looking for. Its not faulty - I
just thought the user manual might be handy should one turn up.
