Besides, I'm pretty sure that you want to go with a "plain"
(carbon-zinc) battery, rather than an alkaline (which is what
Duracell/Coppertops are) if you want to find a proper carbon rod.
Taking them apart is easy - just apply hacksaw around one end or the
other of the can.
