Your set should have adequate protection built in. The power supply was
manufactured under very strict regulations.
These low cost surge protectors you get in the hardware store are not much
of an improvement. If you want proper protection, you can isolate the set
from the AC line. Get a good APC UPS. This will do the job for the AC. But,
if you are on any kind of antenna cable, or satellite service, the
transients of lightning and static electricity are going to be almost
impossible to protect against, if they are close by!
