Hello,
I have a Pioneer VSX 405 receiver in my home that I will be needing to start
using for AM reception.
The station is local and comes in fine on the Sony portable and in all areas
for miles around in my car... but the Pioneer just doesn't want to grab
it... or much of any AM stations.
I have the table-top loop job that came with it, but it has been jammed down
in a mess of wires and such for a few years and I'm wondering if it may be
broken? Can I do a continuity check? Should it show any resistance or any
continuity at all?
Is there another AM antenna that would work better? I also like to listen to
far-away FM and have a Radio Shack FM antenna on a pole outside... is there
an attachment I could use for AM? How about a small CB antenna or such? This
AM station comes in terrific everywhere around... except on this Pioneer :-(
Any suggestions on excellent AM listening?
Thanks so much for any input.
