Have you checked continuity of the volume and balance pots with a
multimeter? Remove the said pots from unit and open up and clean
contacts(if possible).
It is difficult to go on the little info you give - how old is the
machine? what type of controls does it have?
post the model and manufacturer of the item if you want precise
advice.
