Vivo DVD player lost video output. Suggestions?

Hi there! Let me first say thank you for reading this post. I have one
of these cheapo VIVO DVD-P1500 DVD Players that I bought specifically
because of features it offered that were unavailable without going
MUCH higher in price. It worked great for a few hours and then the
video just stopped coming out of it. No background screen, no OSD that
would normally be generated by the DVD player (IE volume bar) and no
movie video. It continues to play sound and CDs just fine. There's
only one left at Circuit City to replace it with but I'm wondering if
you might have suggestions or have seen this before. Honestly.. being
a CE repair tech for 20+ years I don't cringe at the idea of having to
do a repair on it.. maybe even an upgrade to it that would prevent the
failure again. However, I can't seem to locate ANY info on the company
and so obtaining a schematic appears futile. I don't want to
obliterate the warranty seals just to look in there in the hopes of
finding a smoked resistor either. Perhaps one of you can recommend a
"real" brand for this machine from whom I could obtain service lit? I
haven't seen anything exactly like this although we did have a Memorex
in the shop not too long ago that was similar. Any suggestions?
