You need an ESR meter to properly read the capacitors. Do not use an ohm
meter. This reading is not significant. Or, start replacing all the caps in
the power supply and horiz output stage until you weed out all the bad ones.

The hard way to service this, is that during the problem you scope through
the various circuits and determine by waveform where the fault is.

You can also try to use a heat gun and cooling spray to carefully heat and
cool the caps to find this. This method is a sort of hit and miss way to
find a thermo sensitive cap.

My Sony GDM20SE2T takes 15 minutes or more for the display to come on. After
reading multiple items on this newsgroup and across the web, it sounds like
I have a capacitor that needs replacing. I have found one that shows
200megOhm resistance and steadily goes down when I test it with a DMM. It is
a 220?F 400V cap so I would imagine it shouldn't read like this. Am I on the
right track, and if so...where would be the best place to get a replacement
for it and any others I find that are trashed?
Thanks,
Charley
