Don't worry. I understand the dangers. With any high voltage decive I
usally leave it uplugged for a good few hours before opening it(I know
it doesn't eleminate the risk of getting shocked, but it lowers it
some what. if I could I would go further to ground my self to
something). I've aslo learned the hard way on other small items about
twiddling once inside said item(my nes died to soon). Only other
twiddling if you will I did to my tv, was give it a good vaccum to get
rid of some dust.
Thx-fully though, I didn't have to touch the picture tube at all or
yoke/whatever. From the best I can describe it in non techincal terms
since I dont know any. When I opened it up again, I noticed that the
grey glass or whatever moved.. So I gave it an gentle push up, and in.
And it seems to done the trick.. Then I ran my fingers very care-fully
around the gray glass, to make sure what appeared to be a black cable
used to keep it in place was doing so.
Thx for any and all help that was given.
