If all else fails replace the cable with an extension cable from Radio
Shack cut off the one end and carefully solder all the needed cable
connections some pins are not used as you can see from the attached PDF
use a meter to check continuity make sure all the connections are in the
right place, most but not all vga cables terminate with a connector some
are soldered to the printed circuit board, take your time don't rush and
keep a diagram of the color code from the cable you remove (cable color
and pin put) for reference when you replace the cable
