    I have seen parts fail either very slowly over time, or very suddenly. After
    a number of years of use, any electronic device may have something in it
    that will fail. Eventually they will all fail.

Thanks for all the advice, the interesting thing is, this problem just
came on suddenly recently, previously, it was working perfectly fine.
