Most likely you set the display card to out of range of your monitor!

Go in to the safe mode, and put the refresh rate back down. If you want to
use a higher refresh rate, then use a lower resolution. Consult your user
guide for the details about the settings allowed for your monitor.

It's probably time to invest in a new monitor, if the one you have is not
appropriate for what you want.

hi, I have an LG flatron 776fm monitor (not LCD).
after I changed the refresh rate from 60 to 75, it worked ok but
from the next reboot the monitor doesn't work:  its indicator light
blinks off and on between orange and green, and the screen is blank.
the computer sounds like its continuing the boot normally.
even after complete power off, and cable disconnect, its the same.
any thoughts?
