Look for high ESR caps in the power supply, high voltage generator, pin amp,
and scan amplifier areas. You will need an ESR meter to test them, or start
replacing caps one by one, until you weed out all the bad ones.

Hi, I have a sony 400ps 19 inch monitor that is slowly dying. Geometry varies depending on how bright the displayed image (about 5mm on the borders) Also if the display shows a mainly black window, the text becomes very blurry. Displaying something bright (like the OSD or another window) fixes the focus. Also if I drop the refresh to 60 Hz (yuk!) all becomes normal. Any ideas where to look first? Thanks
