How did you determine that the cap is blown? What you are describing would
be most unusual.
First of all, there are so many models and types, you make no reference to
what you have. Also, these circuits are fairly complex, and there are a lot
of capacitors in them.
You would have to properly troubleshoot the monitor to determine the exact
fault. It is not possible to guess at this, and be accurate.
In any case, in electronic equipment, if there is something that has failed,
it is usually necessary to also service the cause of the failure, not only
simply changing the exact defective parts that you first find.
These faults can be complex to service, therefore it may be more feasible to
have an experienced technician repair the monitor for you.

I went straight to the vertical circuit for troubleshooting. I then found a blown cap (100v 220micro farads). When I replace it with a new one, it also blows. What do you think it might be?
