You should consider a bigger adapter. Those speakers might work OK at first,
but as the volume goes up the components inside will be stressed from lack
of power and the power adapter will be stressed since it cannot meet the
demands that the speakers may place on it. Something could go "bang" in that
event, but if you never play the speakers very loudly it may never be a
problem.
If you notice audio distortion at higher volumes that wasn't there with the
proper adapter, something is likely running out of enough "juice" to power
the load satisfactorily.

Lots of equipment says that. It's there for a few reasons--namely to
dissuade idiots from getting inside (No User Serviceable Parts Inside) or so
the manufactuer potentially relieves themselves of some liability if someone
does something stupid with a part of their product.

An outright explosion is very unlikely. However, if the speakers are played
loudly the adapter may overheat and fail while trying to keep up with the
power demands. This could also stress components in the speakers, leading to
the potential of an eventual failure.
