seen this fault many times on Grundig chassis. The soldering around
the vertical IC is likely poor (due to heating-cooling cycles over
time). Resolder EVERYWHERE! If the fault persists, to check
afterwards One test you can do is to power the set with the mains
switch and at the same time hold down ºIº on the remote. This gets you
into service mode and the set ºshouldº not shut itself down. NOTE: Do
ºnotº touch any settings whatever you do. Just observe.
You may notice vertical problems in the picture, thus indicating
further work is needed. Switch the set off with the mains switch to
leave service mode.
