Phillips DVDR985 problem

Trying to repair a Phillips DVDR985. When I push the open button on
the front panel, all I get is a "BLOCKED EXIT" message. I have removed
the DVD module and
everything seems to be OK mechanically. Your suggestions on how to
proceed greatly appreciated.
