You may still be able to order the service manual from Mitsubishi. You would
have to call their parts department to find out.

It sounds like there is a failure in the main power supply, scan protection
area, and or the horizontal output stage, or in the microcontroler circuit
area. Most of the time, it is the power supply and or the scan amplifier
sections that give these types of failures.

You would have to get the service manual, and follow it up with a DVM and
scope to trace out what is going on.

If you are not experienced in TV servicing, and not properly equipped, you
should give the set out to have a proper estimate. From this you would be
able to make an intelligent decision, if the set is worth it or not to
service it. Considering the age of the set, I would be shopping for a new
one.

I have owned this set since 1998. I had the power supply replaced last
year. The set was working great. I watched a movie the other night with no
problems. The next day, the tv would not turn on! This is what happens,
you turn the tv on, the green light comes on and immedaitely the green
light turns off. No Picture, no sound. If I unplug the power recepticle
from the wall and then plug it back in, there is a spark between the
polorized plug and the electrical outlet. This happens when the tv is not
even on! Has someone ever ran into this problem before. Are repair manuals
avaiable for the Vs-50703? Any info on this matter I would appreciate!
