I dunno - we do see lots of laser pickups bad, but if it continues to play
through the disc, the main board could be bad. Not much you can really do to
troubleshoot; either replace the pickup and hope that fixes it, or if that
doesn't fix it, start looking closer at the board - maybe a capacitor
leaking for example.

Obviously - the problem is cost. A new player is cheaper than a replacement
pickup, and cheaper by far than the board.
