The tv was given to me so I dont want to spend too much on it. Plus,
this thing is so heavy I cant move it much by myself.
I am thinking of cracking it open this weekend and taking a look. How
is the coax connector held in there? This seems to be the part giving
me fits as it is loose and wiggeling it up makes the picture get
better. I am wondering if I am going to need a new one.

The repairshop in your area will have the proper tools to remove the
tuner and fix the bad solder on it. It probily won`t cost you a
awhole lot of money. Will cost you mostly labor for doing this
unless it need the rf connector which I don`t think it needs. This
will save you alot of greef in learning how to use the schematics to
find out that you didn`t need it in the first place to fix your
tuner.
