i have a bush widescreen tv ws6674 with what appears to be chassis 99ta052greplaced hot and all is well - it appears that the resistance of the
power supply was trying to come on and on removal of the shorted HOT the
power supply came up fine
the pins on the horizontal output to the yoke connecter were burned with
virtually no solder on them at all
i measured the resistance of the yoke windings and the horizontal is 1R6
and the vertical is 5R8 - according to an old post the horizontal windings
are a bit low resistance but could this be because its a widescreen tv and
needs more power to achieve the extra deflection?
i have ordered a new HOT which ill get on friday and i am going on the
assumption that the poor solder on the horizontal connector caused arcing
that blew the hot.
the old post mentioned seperating the windings of the yoke and comparing
them but i cannot work out how they are wired because there seems to be
some kind of choke/transformer between the windings confusing matters on
a small pcb mounted on the yoke ( i would post a picture but i cant find
my digital camera - sorry)
this is my first widescreen tv and i would appreciate any help on the
subject - especially whether you think the yoke resistances are about
right
cheers

remove nospam to email me
horizontal yoke coils is lower in a widescreen tv
blown hot caused by arcing from bad solder joint on horizontal deflection
connector
