Dear all,
I have got a somewhat strange problem with a philips dvd962sa dvd/sacd
player. When I put in a disk it will read it for about 2 minutes and
then give an error. After that it won't spin the disk up to the right
speed and does not read the toc.
When I power it down and leave it alone it will read the first disk I
put in, it seems to work again but after 2 minutes it gives the same
error.
I thought it might be a power supply issue, but since I cannot find a
servicemanual I don't really now where to start fixing. Anybody who
could help me out on this?
Thanks in advance,

(You haven't mentioned if this player is newer, older, cheaper, more
expensive, etc.)
Anyway, generically speaking, you could get lucky and have some minor
obstruction preventing the sled from moving much.
Otherwise probably out of luck on this one.
I recommend Pioneer. Their players still seem to buck the odds with respect
to reliability.
Philips is the worst sort of junk from the worst sort of company. I say this
having had some experience with their product over the years.
