Re: RCA projector tube leak
Thanks for the response Charles. The boot is pushed out and judging by
the amount of coolant that came out of the anode area when I removed
the tube/lens assembly from the light box, it has probably been leaking
slightly for a little while.
I will let you know how I make out.

(Boot & ring With 4 1/4 head screws ) If it was some of these sets

this exp boot up, remove the 4 screws If coolant runs out it is
overfull Lower level to about 1/2 to 3/4 inch below point where screws
go in. Clean every thing with alachol Watch for leaks. If the Boot has
a hole in it email me & I send part# for replacement boot Charles

Just to update I got the drive today and it does its intended purpose ie boot from an Acronis CD-Rom, I tried other things such as reading DVD/CD under Windows and it was a bit hit and miss it reads some but ignores others, I even tried burning a DVD @ 2.4x but it was way way slow for some reason 500mb of data was gonna take 5 hours, I dunno there may some firmware update that addresses this issue or something. ... As regards to this condition well the previous owner must of cracked it open in an attempt to use the drive as an internal device and it has 2 missing screws like the sort you get on a mobile phone, they're tiny, and the outer casing is broken obviously but its present, if I can find 2 really tiny screws it will stay together without any trouble... ... I tried it on the EEE XP 32bit and it reads a lot more of the discs, there are still the odd few which don't read ie a DL disc I tried and a few others but mainly it works, even played some DVDs for the first time on the EEE, now as I don't have any DVD burning programs on the EEE yet I can't try out the burning function, but at least it runs quite well as a CD/DVD drive and if I can find 2 screws from somewhere it`ll be fine. ...
