Make sure that the TV's AC cord is plugged directly to the main
outlet, and not through the decoder box (dish box).
Many models of TV sets, when switched off, if they loose the AC
supply, the default user memory will be re-set to the default.
If the TV set is being used properly, it is possible that there is a
defect with the internal memory of the TV set in the area that works
with the user set-up. In this case, the set will have to be serviced.
Some sets use an internal battery, while some other's use an internal
memory built in to one of the microcontroler chips. If the fault is
not directly from a memory battery, then servicing the set can get
fairly involved.
We will shortly go off Dish Network, just use a roof antenna, then with
only 5 local channels, changing the channel manually will be no problem.
And with so little to watch, I usually only watch the PBS channel anyway.
