Anyone know when it changed to eg

from the older double squiggle one
eg

number 328
Anybody remember what it was before that "older" one, and when that
squigglewas dropped?

the earliest NS databook I have is 1976 and that has the double S/N
Back in the '60's, until (I don't remember), it was a pair of angular
block letter "N"s, one upright "N", the other on its side "S". sort of
like the wonderful "SUN" logo.

like on this pic of a memory MM1103N of 1973 ?

Yup. I don't know when they abandoned it.
