My new Sony Bravia HDTV has the remote sensor on the *far* right side
of the TV. Fine, except the TV is recessed about 2" in a wood cabinet,
and the sensor can't "see" a signal from the remote in a chair about
40 degrees to the right removed from dead center.
I can make it work using a mirror, but that's not a very elegant
solution. Plus, one must still aim the remote perfectly.
Any ideas? [Other than that, I love the set.]
Infra red is not reflecting off the mirror in normal fashion.
It is reflercting off the glass, not the silvering. Just glue a very small
piece of white plastic, angled , in front of the receiver
Thanks for the hint, although I doubt I'll be gluing anything to a new TV.
The other respondent's suggestion of bouncing the IR signal off the ceiling
(mine is off-white) works great!
